Reed-Mace 1
Often called "Bullrush" or "Cat's
Tail" these distinctive seedheads are of the Greater Reed-Mace
(Typha latifolia). The upper spike which was the male flower
has done its job and fertilised the thick, sausage shaped female flower,
which is now breaking up into downy seeds.
