Gatekeeper
Caught resting on a dog rose, having been feeding
on bramble nectar, it's favourite tipple. Also called the Hedge Brown
, it's fairly similar to the Meadow Brown but brighter and a good deal
smaller. This one's a lady by the looks of her larger wing spots and
brighter, more distinct orange forewing patches. Taken by "Foolofatook"
,aged 14.
