Comet in the November Sky


About the same size as our moon, but exceptionally bright for such as distant object, Comet Holmes in December was hurtling away from the Earth at a distance of some 150 million miles. James Abbott was able to capture this image of Comet Holmes (which appeared as an extra star in the contellation Perseus) from his home observatory in Essex
