Banded Demoiselle

A frequent site in June. The banded demoiselle,
at around 2 inches is our largest damsel fly. While they are frequently
seen in the Forest they are most easily observed when, like this magnificent
male which Mike photographed, they are "roosting" in the grass
along the forest edges.
