Although it's very close to Alice Holt Visitor Centre, this pub is well and truly off the beaten track and can be easily overlooked.

Now in its third year after a long fallow period, The Blue Bell , run by energetic father-and-son team Alex Neil and Alext Jnr, is a favourite with the local community.

The Blue Bell has a welcoming and family-friendly atmosphere with home cooked food, real ales and a specially selected wine list.

There is a huge beer garden with a great children's play area.

It's a great base for a long hike through the Forest or a gentle stroll on Dockenfield Common.
