About www.aliceholt.org

www.aliceholt.org is one year old!

<< Back to Home Page

It was founded in a hurry as a "single issue" site for those who wanted to fight the (now dead-and-buried) plan to build a campsite/ holiday village complex in this Ancient Royal Forest

We are pretty pleased that we've kept the site fresh and updated all year and that we've successfully evolved from being a "Stop the Campsite" protest site to a general community site for all those who live in, visit and love this unique place.

We've got features on wildlife, history, activities and local events. And we cover issues affecting the Forest, such as changes in Forestry Commission management policy and the South Downs National Park proposals. But we'd dearly love more contributions from other people who have pictures, articles, opinions, announcements ,poems or indeed anything that's related to Alice Holt Forest and the surrounding area.

Site visitors should note we are INDEPENDENT and NOT connected with the Forestry Commission , Forest Enterprise , The Alice Holt Visitor Centre ,Go Ape , Hampshire County or East Hants District Councils, the local Parish Councils or any business organisation.

However we do get lots of e-mails and enquiries for these organisations and we're always happy to do our best to forward them to the right people! So feel free to contact us at info@aliceholt.org
